We intended to use our practise session to sort out the car, to make sure we had the right gear ratio in as it was the first time formula fords have raced at Homebush. Unfortunately my qualifying session was very short one with the whole field only completing 2 laps before for the red flags came out ending our session.
Like most of the field I was unaware that this would be the case and used the first few laps to scrub in some new brake pads, this threw my qualifying plan out the window and left me at an unsatisfying 14th position.
Race one started with me making a mistake on the back straight and dropping back to last whilst still struggling with the car set up I managed to make a few spots back up and finished 13th.
Race two started the same as race one. I was just being a bit too hungry under brakes whilst overtaking. We made a few changes to the car but I found them to be worse, but I pressed on with the job at hand.
Race three started off well, we had fixed the changes we had made to the car and I had more confidence in its ability. A safety car was brought out at half way race distance which allowed me to make a few more spots up. In the end I finished 13th but was more happy that we had gotten the car sorted out and took over 3 seconds off my qualifying lap time.
I would just like to say thank you to Sergio and Justin and all the boys at Zen garage for the amazing support and to all the fans and followers of Zen garage as well thankyou for the support and kind words hopefully 2014 will be a bigger and better year.
