Circuit Club founder Narada Kudinar organised their most epic trackday ever, spanning 3 countries in just 8 days. Here are his Zen moments from the trip.
Dubai, Spa and the legendary Nurburgring – it doesn’t get any more epic than this. For the car and driving enthusiast living in Australia, the chance to drive a lap of the Nurburgring is crazy enough, but to do these three tracks in one week driving track prepared cars is the stuff of dreams. It is the stuff of my dreams anyway.
This trip was planned to be some fun and a reward for Circuit Club for having turned 10 last year, but as the lead organiser, it turned into much more very quickly. With 13 guys booked in and paid for, it wasn’t just my trip of a lifetime, it became 13 others’ too.
In total I spent about 15 months planning and organising the trip and just a week out from leaving, I had realised the burden that I had placed on my shoulders. “What if our flights get delayed (which they did) and what if there is a problem with our bookings (which there were)?”
By the end of the trip, perhaps I needn’t have been so worried – or maybe my being worried made for a better adventure, but I can safely say that I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. Being responsible for making another’s dreams come true is a huge task that is also very rewarding. Sure, I got to fang around a Cayman S through the Ardennes Forest, but it was the smiles on the faces and hours of epic laughter from those I had to look after that made my trip.
