The drive is always the best part, unfortunately this time around we had to drive both our Air Suspension V35/G35 and Widebody HSV Maloo separately.
I decided to leave early, 4am to beat the first 300 or so km’s before the sun even comes up. We pulled over to grab some sunrise photos, here are my few: (amateur shots – Selectnine with the real stuff soon!)
We got down to Melbourne with ease, the car really enjoying the open road. The afternoon was really shaping up, and there’s just something special about the lighting in Melbourne, or maybe it’s just we’re always in high spirits when we finally reach our destination.
We unpacked, got the BBQ warmed up and I quickly took some snap shots of the Little Silver Stance that could, soaking up the afternoon rays:
Midnight came and so did the arrival of the ZEN Maloo, we attempted an early night but found the more beers we had… the funnier we got.
That didn’t keep Sebastian (from SlowNserious Photography) waking up early to get the Maloo it’s well deserved sunrise photos. We drove down the coast line from Brighton to St. Kilda, followed by Docklands and a quick cruise listening to that LS3 gurgle and pop through the CBD’s laneways.
From here, breakfast and a visit to Riverside Racing! These guys build some of Australia’s craziest Sport Sedan Racers and Heritage Race Cars, followed by a quick drive down The Great Ocean Road!
