Dropped in to Ben Caden’s workshop to pick up some of his new super light floating disc rotors. The guy is a legit OG and spared plenty of his time to have a great chat about the industry, his products, aero and carbon testing as well (he “reverse engineers” carbon products by breaking apart the weave with a blow torch!). Thought I’d rattle off a few shots whilst I was there!

The 160mm rotor came in at 96g, and the rear 140mm came in at 80g on my scales. Literally the exact same combined weight as the one-piece weight weenie Galfer rotors they’re replacing.

Braking feel is good (but I had no issues with braking power on the Galfers). Will need more testing time to see if these will warp or not, but I did use my finger test to see whether the rotors would warp when poked and where the Galfers would bend (and thus need to be trued), these didn’t.

07_caden_wheels For shits n’ gigs he’s making a jet engined bike too. Cray!

02_highroad Weight weenie friendly tyres.
