Earlier this year I was approached by a friend of a friend who needed help with an automotive themed cosplay photo-shoot. The brief called for a typical Japanese “race car”, in a suitable “racing garage” setting to match the “racing queen” character subject model. Trying to coordinate two photographers, a model, a car and a garage was an absolute headache but we eventually lined up early on a Saturday morning.
I had many cars in mind, and luckily Chase decided to jump on the idea with his 1993 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR V-spec. I had been impressed by Chase’s neat GTR at a local meet organised by “Camden Car Culture”, and it was one of the first cars that came to mind when considering this photo-shoot.
Chase has put a huge amount of effort into his build, as you can see in the mods list below, but he is always planning on ways to make the car more reliable, pretty and fast. In it’s current setup, the V-spec makes 269kw/390hp at 19psi.

The next big plans for the car include a larger displacement block, single turbo application, upgraded injectors, Tomei cams and cam-gears; and a twin plate clutch. It will be interesting to see how much power the car makes this time next year.
The team at UKS were nice enough to get to work a bit early to let us in before business hours to do our photoshoot. As you can see, some of the team were in the process of building a GT86 racer, good luck guys!
The track is nice and tight, definitely worth a go if you like a bit of go-kart action.
Big thanks to Chase and the team at Ultimate Karting Sydney.
