Another Sunday Funday with Autohaus Hamilton for their last Porsches & Coffee of the decade; this time out at St Ives Showground under a mix of cloud & smoke making for some diffused moody shots. The early birds had prime position parking
The team at Black. Specialty Coffee were on hand to serve coffees all morning long, generously On The Haus. Patrons also reciprocated with a donation towards the recent bushfires relief. Keeping it German, the boys from Volkswurst had one of their Combi’s there to serve up some breakfast sausage The Marketing Manager David asked me if I would be able to shoot all attendees cars front on for them. Those who have followed my work from early days would know that I shot cars in this style almost exclusively for a while, so it was definitely not something out of my wheelhaus. I heard Murray Fredericks at Semi-Permanent 2015 talk about working with constraints, reiterating the creativity of constraints theory. I really like the way front on shooting shows off the character of the cars.
In typical Sunday driver styles, it amazes me how many non-Porsches show up to this event, most have the respect to remain outside of the area, but there’s the odd few that get in amongst it.
John Carlton & Lee Dean. John owns a 1989 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera that was featured in Issue 3 of Duck & Whale; the Porsche Culture Magazine that Lee Dean curates and publishes.
They also ‘cutely’ acquired matching rims recently. This Player’s Porsche is just too good not to shoot. I found my lens always wandering back to it.
