Now that Spring is upon us, we will be seeing a lot of make specific gatherings pop up.
First of this season was the Porsche Concours by the Porsche Club of NSW.
Concours (d’Elegance) or “competition of elegance” events are rather odd events. They are generally for the purist car collector; the ones that grab cars, lock them away for years and years, only to see the light of day for events such as these, where they’re judged on how close to original factory conditions they are.
Upon arrival, competing owners parked up in their allocated spots, unloaded and began meticulously cleaning their cars from their trip out to Fagan Park in Galston, with plenty of people opting for a quick run down through the Gorge on the way there.
This year, for the first time, the Porsche Club of NSW introduced a new display category: The OUTLAW!! Cars qualifying for this class were heavily modified Porsches & race cars. These were probably the most exciting cars of the gathering, especially with Mr Ron Goodman bringing out some of his Porsche collection in his awesome transporter.
The Porsche community is definitely a great one, spanning over 70 years, and with a great amount of diversity in cars and owners alike, with generations aspiring and joining the ranks. Definitely get amongst them if you can, you’ll be surprised with who and what they bring to the table!! For now we’ll leave you with some more views of the day.
It’s 911PAT!!!
JPS Livery is one of my faves
Totally neglected to get a front shot of this Porsche 908/03 Spyder
This sticker was a nice addition, and the magazines in the back window definitely topped it off!!
