Beep, Beep, Beep. That’s my alarm, it’s 9:11AM. Why 9:11 you might ask? Positive manifestation because I want to wake up to a 911 one day!

I was a bit eager this morning. Cutting my shower short, missing breakfast and ignoring all social networking to stay focused and on track with an appointment booked at Porsche Centre Willoughby. It’s been a fortnight since picking up my very own (and first) Porsche. After owning around 15 cars over the last 7 years, and driving countless more, the Porsche Boxster S was exactly the change I was after. A true drivers car. I haven’t had a smile on my face this big since, dare I say it… 2007 in my old BMW E30 M3.

I arrive at Porsche Centre Willoughby right on the dot, with parking available right in front. I park up, walk inside and before I even have time to notice the countless dream cars around me; I hear a sweet voice; “Hello, Welcome to Porsche Centre Willoughby. How can I help you?”. I wanted to reply, “Could you please direct me to the first sales person who will help me sign my life away for a GT3 thank-you” but instead replied with; “Hi. I’m Sergio I have a 10:30 appointment with service”.

I was ushered to the Service Manager, and offered a coffee, “Flat White, no sugar thank-you”.

We sat down and I went through a few problems I was having with my used Porsche purchase. The list was surprisingly tiny: Accelerator and Clutch Pedal were tad squeaky and sticky and the CD player stopped working the other day.

Before my coffee even arrived, my key was taken and I was escorted to the showroom to finally get a motivational fix. I cruised the showroom floor with one of the Sales staff who happily took me around each car. Stewart told me about all the qwerky options I never knew existed, did you know that from factory you can option wheel spacers?! No wonder so many Porsches have aggressive fitment from factory!

Love the wheels on this 911 – almost Watanabe-esque!

Optional heated carbon steering wheel? Nice!

Nice plates do a lot for a car.

New Cayman. So right in white.

Turbo love.

Panamera. Love or hate replationship? We love them.

About 15 minutes passed and we were invited down to the service area, before we even had a look at the progression of my car we had a sticky beak around.

workshop
As expected the workshop was spotless, and all the mechanics we overly knowledgeable with each model of Porsche they were working on.

We found ourselves gravitating towards the “Engine Room” where we found a 997 Turbo PDK Motor sitting there looking pretty, was this a dream?

The car which the engine came out of.

Speaking with one of the head mechanics we got onto the topic of tuning. He was telling me things that I didn’t want to hear… like how there are kits to install 911 turbo motor in my little Boxster S. Gahhhh, back on topic, I was now invited to go back over the problems and shown the resolutions which had been carried out. My pedals were an easy fix, a quick tighten and some Porsche Grade Lube had them feeling brand new and whisper quiet. The CD player seems to be a dead internal amplifier, and with Porsche supplying a ‘10 Year’ new car warranty, should be an easy replacement even 9 years on!

We got a tour of the parts room too. Very spoilt!

Trinkets!

Back upstairs we went; I wanted to have a quick look at some Porsche Merchandise (Hello keyring!). Moments later my fortnight old purchase was right out front, freshly washed and vacuumed!

Needless to say, whenever buying a 2nd hand vehicle there’s always hesitation and fears, but a fortnight in, not only am I a satisfied new owner of this beautiful Porsche Boxster S, I’m defiantly a fan of Porsche Centre Willoughby.
