Cloudy, rainy, and pretty damn cold for a weekend of car events. It was indeed a weekend that was full of them! I had no intention whatsoever on attending Boxerfest, but due to many events that transpired in the month of April and my best friend having his ticket super early then inviting me, it was only fitting to go on a little vacation away from reality. In turn me, my best friend Andrew, and his girlfriend Stephanie traveled further north to attend Boxerfest in Annapolis, Maryland at FedEx Field, which is also home of the NFL football team Washington Redskins.

Boxerfest is a highly decorative event that is presented by Subaru of America and COBB Tuning. When we arrived to the event, there were thousands of Subaru’s rolling in from all up and down the East Coast of the United States. Though I do not own a Subaru, I have always been a huge fan of them since 1996 when Gran Turismo first introduced me. 3,600 diehard dedicated Subaru enthusiasts flooded the lot checking out new product from Subiemods, Grimmspeed, KNS Brakes, iAG Performance Mishimoto, TurboXS, RavSpec to name a few of some the top vendors. At the Subaru booth, Subaru debuted the new STI Performance Concept coupe car. This thing was freaking amazing to see in person! We can only hope that it sells in North America and other various countries across the globe. Maybe there will be Liberty Walk, Rocket Bunny, and Garage Mak body kits for it in the near future too! Oops! I’m sorry ladies and gentlemen. Wishful thinking over here.

I do have a new found respect for this event. I know many are saying the stereotypical thing about “Subie” owners, “Ha! You own a Subaru, so you vape with an f*ckboi haircut wearing Nike Air Max’s.” Honestly that is not always the case here fellow car enthusiast. The judgement before reading a book needs to cease in the automotive industry. Do you concur or not? 3,600 people were in attendance to show their love and passion for one of the most highly respected JDM cars in the world. Ranging from large families, to a group of friends, and couples. It really made me sit back in my seat on the way back home from the event reflecting on just how much this specific group of car enthusiast love Subaru’s. I’m forever grateful to embrace my love for these amazing machines by shooting some of the best built Subaru’s I have ever witnessed. From my good friend Matthew Meadows bugeye Impreza WRX to Devin McHenry’s vicious Impreza STI. Thank you to all of the vendors and sponsors for putting on a great display of awesome products. Lastly thank you COBB Tuning and Subaru of America for all of your hard work in creating an astounding event for us Subaru lovers. See you all next time!
