Life is full of coincidences; some very minor, but occasionally – extraordinary.
It was a quiet Thursday evening and I was at home watching the latest episode of SOL: Supercars of London where Paul Wallace had reached his goal of purchasing a Bicolore Serie Speciale Lamborghini Gallardo, at the age of just 25. I was about half way through the video on YouTube when I heard a Facebook message pop up from Johnny, who happens to own the exact same car. As I quickly pressed the pause button to unlock my phone, I soon discovered that Johnny was asking if I was available for a shoot – what were the chances…
Ask me what my dream supercar is and I’ll without a doubt say a Lamborghini, so this was purely serendipity and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to spend some one-on-one time with this limited edition supercar, which happens to be the only Bianco Monocerus Bicolore LP560-4 in Australia.
Three days later and the two-tone Gallardo like the one I had been admiring on YouTube, stood right before me, so I pulled out my phone from my back pocket and quickly took a video to add to my Snapchat story.
Connecting with different people from all around the world is something I enjoy, so being able to give a quick insight and BTS snippet of my photo shoots and adventures makes the whole experience extra fun.
Surprisingly enough, I even had someone on the way home from the shoot pull up next to me in a RX-7, mentioning that they have me on Snapchat, it’s crazy how small this world really is!
Snapchat aside, I got right into the photo shoot before the sun started to set.
To give you a quick rundown, the Bicolore Serie Speciale consists of a sleek, gloss black roof extending to the pillars, engine hood and rear spoiler.
The normally optional glass engine cover is standard here, providing an unobstructed view of the 560-hp V-10 that powers the wheels.
This particular Bicolore is fitted with a special titanium-finish Skorplus 19” Alloys with upgraded brake callipers in yellow, making them pop behind the multispoked wheels.
The simple combination of black and white just so happens to be a favourite of mine (hence you’ll probably never see me wearing colour) and for the interior of this Gallardo, the contrast between black and white is repeated in an understated, elegant manner. The instrument panel, seats, door panels and other elements in the passenger compartment are upholstered in the finest “Nero Persus” leather, with a refined contrast provided by precise stitching that is coloured to match the black and white exterior.
A long list of optional equipment and accessories like the sat-nav and rear-view camera, just to name a few, allows the vehicle to be adapted to the client’s personal requirements.
This ferocious bull also consists of a lift kit which was put to use several times throughout the shoot as like everywhere else in Sydney, the roads were shocking.
Johnny is planning on upgrading to an Aventador which reminds me of another weird coincidence I have. For years I have always seen the numbers 754 (I even used to catch the ‘754’ bus to and from high school!) and the latest Lamborghini Aventador just so happens to be a LP750-4… Does anyone else have these types of coincidences? Maybe I should set a similar goal to Paul Wallace’s. Unrealistic maybe, but one can dream right? Hopefully I have the chance to shoot one when they hit the Australian roads in 2016, but for now, please enjoy my feature on this timeless Gallardo.
