I recently got out to Sydney Motorsports Park for a Driving Solutions morning session to catch ZEN sponsored driver Trent Grubel as he and Pulse Racing’s Paul Fisher put the DC Jap Automotive Subaru through a shakedown in preparation for this year’s SubiNats to be held at Phillip Island. This was the first time back in the saddle of the Subaru for Trent after SubiNats 2018 at Sydney Motorsport park last August/September. The car has undergone a few modifications as well, both performance and aesthetics, in preparation for SubiNats 2019 and a possible stint at WTAC 2019 too!!
With World Time Attack Challenge only a few short months away, CEO Ian Baker & Marketing Manager Alain are finding themselves more and more in their second office; Sydney Motorsports Park.
Also present at the track was the phenomenal driver behind the WTAC lap record holder Barton Mawer, this time piloting a Lotus, and not the RP968 (just yet), but any seat time is good time right??
And whilst we’re on the WTAC train, this was a great surprise!! The MCA Hammerhead!!! Unfortunately two turns in, the Hammerhead came off There was quite a lot of incidents happening on track. A friend jokingly told me that “Drivers get a bit over-confident and run out of talent as they get further into each session. They really need to come back in, refuel (on talent) and then get back out there….”
