Sometimes the daily grind and everything else in between blur the lines of what truly drives us. So what does drive us? Cars, friends, food, fun and family?

A call went out to chase the sun and feed the senses and a group of us decided to go against our body clocks by waking up at 5am and doing ‘the drive’ before opening Zen Garage doors at 11am for our usual Saturday trade.

It was easy committing to a 5am ‘wakey wakey’ in words, but the physical effort of pulling ourselves out of bed after only a few measly hours of sleep (also our bad) wasn’t as simple. But bro code is law, so is a bro’s promise, and at 5:30am the group assembled at Zen Garage and we were ready to go.

Destination Akuna Bay along with West Head in Sydney’s far North. Was nice feeling the warmth of the sun rising as we cruised over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Northern Coast Line. By 7am we had racked up close to 60km, a few laps under our belt of the National Park and now time for a quick break at West Head’s look out.

Gourmet Breakfast was calling us. From here we could see our next destination, The Boat Shed Cafe at the Famous Palm Beach, which by sea would have been only moments away but in the car we had a much longer journey ahead of us.

We said goodbye to the view that could only be described as breathtaking, and said hello to the bends of the National Park once again. This came to a sudden stop about 25minutes in, when we came across a true Australian Billabong, the water so clear and still it seamlessly reflected the National Park as if there was a parallel universe on the other side. Obviously a quick stone skidding competition was held!

We made it, The Boat Shed! The last destination for our Sunrise Drive, and time to get some food into our empty stomachs. The food was amazing, and portions substantial. We highly recommend the Salmon and Scrambled eggs!

It’s now 10am and time to head back to reality, kiss goodbye our fairytale morning of picturesque views, amazing driving roads and taste bud tantalising breakfast!

Inspired, motivated and driven for another week. Sometimes, it’s ok to find your Zen.
